We’re proud to share that two client projects shaped in partnership with our team have been recognised at the 2025 Parks and Leisure Australia (PLA) Queensland Awards, highlighting what can be achieved through collaboration, creativity and community vision.
Archerfield Wetlands District Park – Park of the Year
Project Partners: URBIS, Brisbane Sustainability Agency, Third Place Design, EPOCA Constructions

Once a decommissioned wastewater treatment plant, Archerfield Wetlands has been transformed into a landmark community destination. The park celebrates its natural landscape while offering opportunities for recreation, learning and connection. With sustainability and accessibility at its heart, it stands as a powerful example of how post-industrial land can be reimagined into a thriving public asset.
This project has now taken home two major honours – Park of the Year from PLA Queensland and the Landscape Architecture Award of Excellence from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA). It now progresses to the national stage later this year.
Cameron Park – Playspace Award (>$500,000)
Project Partners: Ipswich City Council, Place Design Group, Third Place Design, Naturform

Cameron Park was celebrated for delivering a playspace that goes far beyond fun. Designed for all ages and abilities, the park invites adventure, connection and challenge in equal measure. The colourful Qube toddler tower ensures even the youngest visitors can explore with confidence, while a variety of inclusive elements ensure children of all abilities are part of the action.
The result is a vibrant community hub that will enrich the local area for years to come.
Honouring our Clients and Partners
We’re also thrilled to see several other client projects recognised as finalists, including:
Each nomination reflects the shared effort of councils, landscape architects, stakeholders and our team, working together to bring bold ideas to life.
Beyond the Awards
While we’re honoured by these awards, they are first and foremost a celebration of our clients’ vision and the communities who inspired them. At Third Place Design, and by association PARX Group, our role is to support that vision—bringing design expertise, engineering know-how and a collaborative spirit to help create spaces that truly make a difference.

These projects were originally delivered under our previous name, Playscape Creations, and today sit proudly within the PARX and Third Place Design brands. Our commitment remains the same: to deliver iconic outdoor environments that balance design excellence, durability and purpose, backed by seamless support from concept through to completion.
